A women-led enterprise with a purpose connected to Himalayan food heritage, learning and rural participation.
OUR PURPOSE
More value for
the place we call home.
Nature’s Urja’s ambition is to connect regional ingredients with new products and wider opportunities.
Food-processing workshops, shared learning and opportunities to present local products form part of our community story. Women’s knowledge and participation are central to this work.
WHERE WE FOCUS
Participation in enterprise
Encouraging learning, contribution and confidence around food processing and product development.
Regional ingredients
Bringing renewed attention to traditional foods, indigenous grains and the knowledge associated with them.
Thoughtful growth
Keeping biodiversity, responsible use of resources and long-term community value in view as the enterprise develops.
A JOURNEY OF LEARNING
From an idea
to an enterprise.
The COVID-19 lockdown became a period of exploration for Dr. Divya Vishambra, connecting her biotechnology background with Himalayan ingredients.
That interest took shape in a collection of Gucchi, Red Rice and Horse Gram teas.
Nature’s Urja is listed among the active startups of the Agri Business Incubation Centre at SKUAST-Jammu.
